Ratatouille is a standard platformer game developed at Heavy Iron Studios and released by THQ.
Being a rat should not be easy, much harder when Pixar has decided that it is going to have aspirations of becoming the best chef around Paris.
Developed by an experienced company in the field of turning films into games, Heavy Iron Studios has wisely managed to connect with one of the most demanding audiences of nowadays market: children. It is very well known that the followed play scheme makes this game very suitable for the smallest people of the house. Admittedly, Remy, the rat we will control while playing, will have at his disposal a range of skills that could prove to be somewhat overwhelming: jumping, launching an attack with its tail, climbing walls, making balance on wires, carrying objects, etc..
Easy, faithful to the film and varied, all this will be through a gameplay so linear and simple that, ultimately, we will see a most affordable product in terms of difficulty. It is a video game in which we will, moreover, overcome every stage of the film level by level because, although we are not faced with a completely faithful adaptation, it will respect the essence of history and many of the locations that we could appreciate in the animated Disney-Pixar movie.
The progression in the game implies a linear achievement of objectives, but down the road we will see some elements that give action a touch of variety. |
